When I think about writing about being on the streets, I hesitate because much of it is incredibly sad.  People want to hear uplifting stories, don’t they? 

Yesterday, the neighbor’s cat got into a mockingbird’s nest in one of our trees and managed to kill two of the fledglings.  The parents of the baby birds were diving at the cat, trying to defend their young - not concerned about their own safety.  My neighbor charged across the street, yelling at his cat, but he was too late.

Dear CPLC, I occasionally drive for a car service for extra income and this morning, I gave a ride to a young woman to a clinic appointment. Once the ride finished ... a couple of people approached me with a cross and pamphlet. One gentleman asked me what was the occasion. I said I just dropped off my friend. The gentleman asked me if I knew what that clinic was for. I replied, “no idea.”

Mother's Day has taken on a different meaning for me ever since I met Gloria. I was sidewalk counseling in the alley behind Routh Street abortion facility, when a car drove in. Gloria was headed to her appointment at Routh, but the Holy Spirit interceded ...

The Vineyard dressed up in white to celebrate the second of five weddings announced this year! It is beautiful when we see Rachel’s Vineyard graduates and Project Joseph family members uniting their lives at the foot of God’s holy altar. 

I got a call I have never received before. It was from the owner of a store. He said he had a lady in tears in his store and needed my help.

Every Rachel's Vineyard Retreat is amazing — witnessing the years of pain fall away from a hardened heart and seeing life breathed back into a soul.  This past retreat was no different.  But, with the presence of clergy, particularly Bishop Kelly, I saw a deeper impact on many of the retreatants.
