Prayer changes things
January 24, 2017
The sun was out when we got to the prayer site, and it didn’t feel too cold. But when we pulled out our rosaries, the sky turned back to gray, and the January day settled over us.
Praying when it’s really chilly feels more penitential. And, we hope, our presence carries the message of God’s love, since He’s the one who sent us.
We had been praying for a while when a silver pickup truck pulled up right behind us.
“Thank you! Thank you for being here! Y’all have always been so faithful to come. I live just up the road and I see you here all the time. I didn’t know they had reopened.”
“They haven’t yet. But they are trying to. We’re praying that they won’t. Please pray! And pray for the babies too.”
“I will. And I’ll pray for you too. God bless you.”
And the day seemed warmer.
